Catching Up!

I have been putting off making any new posts lately just out of sheer laziness, or maybe it has been sadness that all that has been going on is me being overwhelmed with how much work we still have to do moving into our new house. Our summer of living with nieces and nephews and having no responsibilities is over and that makes me really sad. That means there is no more of this... And no more river rafting trips.... And no more family camp outs....
Definately no more walks to get snow cones...

No more golfing with the wild life at Bountiful Ridge...

And worst of all, we dont get to see this face everyday anymore....

Instead our days feel alot like this...(Yes, Troy really is napping instead of laying our tile)

We have spent alot of time painting since we opted to do that ourselves. I still dont know why I thought that was such a good idea. It doesnt seem like the money we saved was really all that worth it now. Especially since there is still no end in sight. Here are some Before and After pics of some of the painting I have done. Of course, the rooms aren't empty anymore, but you can see the colors I have painted so far.

Hopefully I will make alot of progress this weekend and I can post some new pictures next week. I am getting pretty sick of living surrounded by boxes so I need to kick it into high gear!

I know this info is quite old, but I had to post the pics anyways because I had so much fun on my birthday. Two of my best friends plus one of my sisters, so I guess technically 3 of my best friends, took me to get pedicures and out to dinner. It was only the second pedicure of my life and I am pretty sure it is going to have to be a semi-regular thing from now on. Thanks to Bekah and Mary for opening my eyes to this foreign world! Troy also contributed to me having a fabulous birthday by taking me to get a couples massage and then dinner and a night downtown at the Marriott. It was a lot of fun, but of course, our camera batteries were dead so we didnt get any pictures! AAHH! Thanks for the fun birthday everyone!

Well, I think that's it for now. This has officially been the longest post I have ever made. I know alot of you have been asking for new pregnancy pictures and I tried to get Troy to take a 25 week pic of me last night, but that didnt end up happening. Hopefully I will have better luck tonight! :) Until next time...

I am starting to get obsessed...

I know there are at least 3 other things I need to post about right now that I am just being lazy about, but my sister sent me this blog address yesterday that I am just so excited about I can hardly stand it! I have always been a food storage slacker even though it is something that has always sent a panic attack through my body anytime it is mentioned. Just ask anyone in my family, I am a total worry wart about the end of the world and am totally paranoid about the need to one day have to survive amidst dire pandemonium. You would think if I felt that way since I was a child, that I would have prepared myself a little better. Well, the time has come over the past few months for me to finally get my "survival" needs together and I have been buying stuff like crazy, especially at all of the case lot sales. Well, back to the post, my sister sent me the following blog yesterday and I have been looking at it non stop! It links to her website which is even cooler. We are half way there!

So we reached the 20 week mark today and had our ultrasound yesterday. Everything appeared to be just perfect on the ultrasound and we confirmed that we are definitely having a boy! There is no denying that now! :) We are happy to find out that he is growing right on track and appears to be healthy. I can't believe we are half way there, but at the same time it still seems so far away! I don't know how I am going to last without going crazy with excitement! Everyone has been asking me to post a pic of my belly so here are a couple of shots we got on our walk to Yogurt Stop tonight. Thank you to everyone who has been helping me stay comfortable and cute with new maternity clothes! Having adorable clothes that actually fit just makes me feel so much better and not so ugly and fat! Thanks again everyone!

House progress

I didnt want to post any new pictures of our house for awhile until there was some serious changes. Well, it is almost finished now so I figured we could do one more update between now and then. We went up last night and here is the progress. They arent the best pics b/c they were taken with my cell phone so the colors are a little dull, but you get the picture, right?
The only thing they have left on the outside is the shutters and fixing the stucco and rock on the left pillar. Other than that, I think they are finished! :) (And yes, that is Troy climbing through the window)We were most excited to see that they installed the cabinets and counter tops this week. Make note of mine and Troy's professional tile installation! Doesnt it just look perfect?? :) I'm so excited to see our new appliances and add my own paint colors! I can't wait!

It's a BOY!!!!

We (and by we, I actually mean I) just couldnt wait any longer than we had to find out so at the earliest possible chance, we went to Fetal Fotos and found out what we are having. We are happy, suprised, and excited to say that we BOTH got what we wanted...a BOY! Now I don't have to live in suspense for another month waiting! On that note, I gotta go...I've got some very important reading to do...Go Jacob! :)

Our Summer Part II

Our summer hasn't been nearly as jam packed as we were hoping, but we are still having fun and just spending a lot of time watching movies and relaxing. We celebrated another baby birthday...Happy Birthday Will! We took our niece and nephew for a quick swim at the lake...I recovered from my wasp attack...And this past weekend we finally got to go camping...

Scott, I hope Troy took enough pictures of the campsite for you! :)

I guess third time really is a charm...

I know alot of you already know, but I thought it was safe to announce to the rest of the world that I am 13 weeks pregnant! We were beginning to think that maybe it wasnt going to happen for us, but here we are! Sorry, I couldnt post the ultrasound pic from my appt yesterday, so you guys get to see the little kidney bean at 9 weeks. I am due January 21, 2009 and, of course, Troy is about to die of excitement waiting to find out if he is getting a boy. My appt to find out isnt until the first week of September, do you guys think he will be able to wait until then or will we be making a trip to fetal fotos in the next couple of weeks?? I guess we will just wait and see....

Quasimodo Lives!

So, 7-7 has been a really lucky day for us...first, we had our 4-way walk through of our house. It is completely framed and all the electrical and plumbing is done, now they can start sheet rocking this week, YAY! This is the only pic I got before my camera died... To celebrate the progress of the house, we went out for our first Tepanyaki experience with some good friends of ours. It was SO GOOD!! I can't wait to eat my leftovers! And it was so funny to watch Kelly get all kinds of food thrown at her. Next, we got our neighbors mattress sold for her and then, even better, we SOLD our Toyota! YAY! It looks like we might be able to buy our new house after all!

And now for the fun part of the day...as I was standing watching Troy and this other guy load the mattress I was attacked in the face by what I believe was a killer wasp. It stung me twice right underneath my eye. I have never been stung by a wasp before and I have never understood why everyone freaks out and gets so paranoid when one flies by. I also thought, if you just leave it alone, it wont bother you, right? Well, it wasn't so bad getting stung when it just looked like this... But then it turned into this...

Sigh of Relief

Well, the big move is finally over! It feels so good to be back in Bountiful, aka B-town. I dont know what it is about Bountiful, but it is the only place I have lived since I've been in Utah that everytime I come back, it always feels like I am coming home. Maybe its because both of my sisters live here with their families, maybe it's the Mandarin and Robintino's, maybe it's because this is where all of my closest friends live, or maybe, just maybe it's because this is the place that my life has changed the most since I've been in Utah. This is the place that I put the pieces back together, got back in touch with who I was, where I wanted my life to go, and started over. So, yeah, I guess you could say it feels good to be back. Even if we do only have one room to ourselves and a bathroom that we share with 5 other people. :) I look forward to a fun summer of playing while we have limited responsibilities while our house is being finished!

I do have to say even though I love being in Bountiful again, it was kind of sad to leave our house in Kaysville. That was mine and Troy's first home together so it will always hold a special place in our hearts. And we will definately miss our backyard view! :) Thanks to everyone who made us feel welcome during our short time there. I hope the same hospitality is extended to our renters. They have a little more to offer to the neighborhood than we did, 3 kids! (aka: new playmates for all of your kids!)

Our New House Update

We went out to the new house this weekend and they FINALLY started framing! They have the entire downstairs framed and they only messed up on two things: the garage man door and my extended pantry space. GRRRRR!!!!! It is really frustrating having to babysit them on THEIR job, especially since they have the same plans we do! We are going back out today to make sure they have or are in the process of correcting things. Here are some pics of the progress so far, hopefully things will start to speed up a little.
We are also making our final move to Bountiful this weekend, so this is kind of a stressful week for us. You would think with all the extra time we have had that we would be almost finished by now, but think again, we have procrastinated our way to the very end. On the bright side, we are so happy that our initial renters flaked out and we got the ones that we did. They were definately worth the wait! You're Welcome to all of our current, soon-to-be-past, neighbors! :)

Our Summer so far...

We have been having a really fun Summer so far. We got to go to Idaho for our niece's graduation, Congrats Chantal! We have been playing golf like crazy, I love it! I am doing a golf clinic with two of my good girlfriends, Holly & Bekah. It is so much fun! I look forward to playing all summer long.We have also had some fun birthday celebrations, Happy Birthday Emily & Mack! Now it's time to buckle down and get moved out of our house so we can start enjoying the rest of the summer without stress and things to do! We've got two more weeks and then we can throw caution to wind and just have fun!

I am a lover of Superheroes

My love of comic book movies and Superheroes has really been on the surface lately. I think it is due mostly to my new found love of Ironman, which I am going to see for the 3rd time later today! Its funny how Ironman can go from not even being on my list to being in my top 3 favorite superheroes of all time list, right behind Superman and Batman, of course. Anyways, as I was laying in bed yesterday literally from the time I got off work until I started work again this morning, Batman Begins came on TV and how could I not watch it? This, obviously, only fed my impatience for the release of the upcoming Batman movie, The Dark Knight. It also brought up the question, of who has been the best Batman? If you would have asked me this 10 years ago, of course I would have said Val Kilmer hands down because when I was a teenager I was seriously obsessed with Batman Forever when it came out. However, I have really grown to love Christian Bale as Batman. It probably helps that he is in a few other movies that I love, The Prestige, 310 to Yuma, and of course, Newsies. So what do all of you think? Is there even a competition between Michael Keaton, George Clooney, Val Kilmer, and Christian Bale? Of course, since I wasnt around in 1966, Adam West will not be a part of my poll, but if you were then great, just leave a comment and show us all how old school you are. :)

The latest in the Twilight series

I have two exciting things to post today that I found online. First, this is a sneak peek of the first chapter in Stephenie Meyer's 4th book in the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn. It comes out on August 2 for those of you who didnt know or who havent realized how close that actually is!! Here it is:

1. ENGAGED

NO ONE IS STARING AT YOU, I promised myself. No one is staring at you. No one is staring at you.

But, because I couldn't lie convincingly even to myself, I had to check.

As I sat waiting for one of the three traffic lights in town to turn green, I peeked to the right — in her minivan, Mrs. Weber had turned her whole torso in my direction. Her eyes bored into mine, and I flinched back, wondering why she didn't drop her gaze or look ashamed. It was still considered rude to stare at people, wasn't it? Didn't that apply to me anymore?

Then I remembered that these windows were so darkly tinted that she probably had no idea if it was even me in here, let alone that I'd caught her looking. I tried to take some comfort in the fact that she wasn't really staring at me, just the car.

My car. Sigh.

I glanced to the left and groaned. Two pedestrians were frozen on the sidewalk, missing their chance to cross as they stared. Behind them, Mr. Marshall was gawking through the plate glass window of his little souvenir shop. At least he didn't have his nose pressed up against the glass. Yet.

The light turned green and, in my hurry to escape, I stomped on the gas pedal without thinking — the normal way I would have punched it to get my ancient Chevy truck moving.

Engine snarling like a hunting panther, the car jolted forward so fast that my body slammed into the black leather seat and my stomach flattened against my spine.

''Arg!'' I gasped as I fumbled for the brake. Keeping my head, I merely tapped the pedal. The car lurched to an absolute standstill anyway.

I couldn't bear to look around at the reaction. If there had been any doubt as to who was driving this car before, it was gone now. With the toe of my shoe, I gently nudged the gas pedal down one half millimeter, and the car shot forward again.

I managed to reach my goal, the gas station. If I hadn't been running on vapors, I wouldn't have come into town at all. I was going without a lot of things these days, like Pop-Tarts and shoelaces, to avoid spending time in public.

Moving as if I were in a race, I got the hatch open, the cap off, the card scanned, and the nozzle in the tank within seconds. Of course, there was nothing I could do to make the numbers on the gauge pick up the pace. They ticked by sluggishly, almost as if they were doing it just to annoy me.

It wasn't bright out — a typically drizzly day in Forks, Washington — but I still felt like a spotlight was trained on me, drawing attention to the delicate ring on my left hand. At times like this, sensing the eyes on my back, it felt as if the ring were pulsing like a neon sign: Look at me, look at me.

It was stupid to be so self-conscious, and I knew that. Besides my dad and mom, did it really matter what people were saying about my engagement? About my new car? About my mysterious acceptance into an Ivy League college? About the shiny black credit card that felt red-hot in my back pocket right now?

''Yeah, who cares what they think,'' I muttered under my breath.
